This is where you get the feeling, the product was never tested.
Remote is too dark and not handy. My other Tv., u can operate that blindly.
2. Sound, its hard to set up. Low, high, surround etc.
3. Brightness, its contrast is too bright and too dark, gets in your eyes. But i do not know how other Tvs are. Apparently high raio is not good.
overall i wish i would have spend $50 more to get a try something else.

My PHILIPS LCD TV died after giving hardly 3 years of service. I have been a victim of PHILIPS dubious customer service - please aviod PHILIPS if you want to avoid being a victim too. I am pasting my chat script with their customer support:

I have had this set in my bedroon for about a month, now. I looked at this one for months at the local department store where it was displayed next to several other, similar sized TVs. The Phillips had by far the best quality picture and I planned to pick up when the price went down. Luckily I happened to stop by when the set went on a close out sale and they only had 3 left. So, picture wise, I like this TV better than the competition. It was simple to set up. It was refreshing to see the simplicity of the Menu after my large Sony LCD TV, which is a great TV, too, but complicated and somewhat cumbersome to manage. The sound volume is good for the small room that I have it in, and I am happy with the sound quality. This is a really nice TV and I find myself spending more time in my bedroom, as a result.

Wonderful picture and excellent sound for its size. It was easy to set up and I like the way the settings assistant feature helps you configure the picture to your personal taste. I have connected the TV to a DirectTV HD receiver with the HDMI cable and have experienced no problems at all; it looks and sounds great.

I bought this after quite a bit of research and to my dismay the TV worked for about 15 minutes. Called Philips- they said the set was defective and to send it back. Very disappointed.
